Displacement is the shortest distance between two points.

It is a scalar quantity.

It is a vector quantity.

It has magnitude but no direction.

It has both magnitude and direction.

It is always positive.

It can be positive, zero or negative.

It is used for calculating speed.

It is used for calculating velocity.
