Explain the process of formation of mineral oil with suitable figure.

Minerals oils are formed in nature and it takes millions of years long process. They are formed from dead body of microorganism deposited and piled-up at a place inside seas and oceans. Formation of mineral oil can be summed up in following points:-

(I)        Microorganism living millions of years ago died.
(II)      Bacteria decayed those dead bodies.
(III)    These decayed bodies get covered by various layers of sand and soil.
(IV)    Due to exposure to pressure and temperature over long period sand and soil piled up form an impervious layer of sedimentary rock.
(V)      This temperature and pressure is also responsible for conversion of dead remnant of microorganism into mineral oil inside impervious layer of sedimentary rocks.
